LMIS collaborated with long-time partner NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) to develop a set of 11 Labor Market Information (LMI) tools to equip Pathway Advisors, students, and their families with accessible, relevant labor market data to guide their post-secondary planning and career exploration. The tools’ development was informed by input from students and Pathway Advisors on priority data points and design preferences. They give users the full picture by combining overviews of occupations’ size, wages, and growth trajectory, with real-time insights into employer hiring and in-demand skills.

The 11 career areas are: Automotive & Transportation; Business & Finance; Construction; Culinary, Hospitality & Tourism; Education; Engineering & Architecture; Healthcare; Human & Social Services; HVAC/R & Decarbonization; Media & Design; and Technology.

Each tool also features best practices for integrating LMI into post-secondary planning, data snapshots of top occupations at local and national levels, sample related CUNY degree programs and local non-degree training opportunities, and additional online resources for further research. The full set is available for viewing and download on the NYCPS Instructure website.
